Reynolds of Ludlow Yew Wood Coffee Table.

IMG_3297 copy

Large mid century modern coffee table c.1960 by the English makers Reynolds of Ludlow.  Beautiful 2″ thick yew wood plank on four tapering legs also in yew. Like the furniture of the celebrated US designer George Nakashima these tables celebrate and express the natural origin of the materials;  the sides of the plank retain their original organic profile and holes whilst the top is polished smooth to show off the grain. Excellent original condition with a clear maker’s mark on the underside.
Reynolds was established in the early 1950′s as a small father and son producer of hand crafted furniture inspired by the ethos of the Arts and Crafts movement. Unfortunately there premises was destroyed by fire in the late 1970′s and the company folded soon after.
Dimensions: width 61″, depth 28″, height 16″.

I have a similar Renolds of Ludlow coffee table that we are looking to sell. Would you be interested?

My parents bought one of these tables and two matching end tables while we lived in South Wales in the early ’70s. They left them to me when they passed away. Last week, they were stolen. I’m trying to get a general price for them for the insurance company but every picture I find says the item has been sold and the price doesn’t show. Can you give me an idea of what they would be worth, please? They were in very good condition.
