Pair of 18th.c. Carved Limewood Panels


Pair of 18th.c. French carved limewood panels c.1740. Very nearly five foot tall, probably designed to stand either side of a doorway. Limewood carved with a Classical baroque design in high relief featuring an oval cartouche within an elaborate scrolling frame device. Rope twist detail and acanthus spray to thee top and bottom. Laid onto pine boards with shaped corners. Some missing portions of carving to the acanthus at the base of one panel.
Dimensions: width 10″, depth 3″, height 59½”.
