Oak Chest from Croston Hall Lancashire.

A large and very sturdy mid 19th solid oak chest. Fitted to the top is a brass plaque dating the construction of the box from the ancient roof timbers of Croston Old Hall in Lancashire and dated 1858. The old hall was demolished in the mid 19th.c when a splendid new Croston Hall was built in the Gothic style for the De Trafford family. This was in turn also demolished in the mid 1960’s.
Dimensions: width 37″, depth 23″, height 22″.
