Pair of Mahogany Hall Chairs.


Fine pair of George III mahogany hall chairs c.1800. Striking design in solid mahogany throughout, shaped backrests with crisp carved detail over single piece seats. Raised on unusual sabre front legs with moulded detail. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Club Fender, Fire Guard and Companion Set.


With a view toward the coming winter we present this collection of fireplace items:
Small early 19th.c. nursery fireguard c.1830. Polished brass top rail, criss-cross wirework body with steel supports and spark guard base. Orginal fixing hoops at each side.

20th.c. Victorian style club fender in brass with faux leather seat pads. With large twisted columns at the corners.
Dimensions: width 62″, depth 19″, height 21″.

Fine set of mid 19th.c. steel fire irons c.1840. Tongs, poker,shovel and brush hung on their original stand. Standing 27″ tall with elegant urn shaped finials. Excellent condition.


Burr Walnut Drum Table.


Good quality mid twentieth century centre or drum table. Revolving 48″ diameter top with symmetrically arranged burr walnut veneers, inlaid herringbone border and a crossbanded mahogany edge over four working drawers and four dummy drawer fronts. On a turned mahogany column pedestal and four leg base with brass claw feet and castors. Burr walnut drawer fronts with oak drawer linings and brass handles. Minor wear to the top and a slightly discoloured patch. Key supplied.

The marks of time


Years of weekly clock winding have unfortunately left their mark on the top of this mid 19th.c mahogany two door chiffonier sideboard. However, despite the obvious wear it remains a very handsome piece of furniture with the front boasting flame mahogany veneers of really exceptional good colour and grain.  43″ wide with a solid mahogany top with crossbanded edge over a single long drawer and a two door cupboard fitted with two adjustable shelves. Shaped flame mahogany drawer front with carved acanthus leaf detail at the sides. Matched veneered door panels with a raised moulding and crossbanded edge. Solid mahogany sides and drawer linings. Raised on turned bun feet. Damage and repairs to the top (where it probably once had an upstand or shelf on supports fitted). Otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Cupboard key supplied.

Carved Walnut Armchair.


Mid 19th.c. carved walnut salon armchair c.1860. Shaped frame and legs in solid walnut with crisply carved floral detail to the cresting rail and further carving to the sides, arm fronts, apron and legs. Shaped backrest with buttoned upholstery over a sprung seat. Original brass and white ceramic castors to front and rear. Very good unrestored condition with clean covers in a well chosen Victorian pattern fabric.

Marble Top Coffee Table.


Stylish little 20th.c. marble top coffee table. Beautifully figured rose marble top with a shaped and moulded edge. On a carved and gilded wooden base shaped apron with scallop detail repeated on each side and scroll feet. Original gilding with a little minor wear, otherwise excellent condition.

Cased Taxidermy Foxes.


Large Edwardian era cased display of two taxidermy foxes by James E. Whiting of London c.1910. Naturalistic taxidermy presented as a tableau showing the lower fox defending a rabbit it has killed from the attentions of the larger fox above. On a beautifully modelled backround decorated with grasses, mosses, flowers and ferns. In a large display case, glazed on three sides. Original paper label for ‘James E. Whiting Naturalist 19 Heath St, Hampstead, London. Single crack to a lower portion of the glass at the left hand side. Upper fox missing the tip of his tail which has dropped o the base of the case beside the rabbit. Otherwise very good original condition.

Pair of Stockman Dressmaker’s Mannequins.


Superb pair of vintage dressmaker’s mannequins by Stockman of Paris c.1920. Female torsos in papier maché with cloth covering, clear stamped mark to the belly and a turned and painted wooden finial at the neck. Height adjustable on shaped metal tripod bases also stamped for stockman. Excellent condition, original through.
