Long Mid-Century Yew Wood Slab Coffee Table.

Impressively long mid century modern coffee table by Reynolds of Ludlow c.1960. The biggest we have seen, with a gorgeous single piece 1½” thick yew wood slab top on four tapering legs also in yew. Like the furniture of the celebrated US designer George Nakashima these tables celebrate and express the natural origin of the material, retaining the original organic profile to the edge and with a hole through one end, whilst the top is polished smooth to show off the beautiful grain. Very good condition, original through with some wear to the finish on the top.
Reynolds was established in the early 1950’s as a small father and son producer of hand crafted furniture inspired by the ethos of the Arts & Crafts movement. Unfortunately their premises were destroyed by fire in the late 1970’s and the company folded soon after.
Dimensions: length 72½” width 21″, height 15½”.
