Delightful early 20th.c. maritime diorama of unusually large size. Showing a three masted schooner under a full spread of sail against a painted sky and afloat on moulded and painted plaster sea. Wooden hull, cabins and masts, canvas sales and string rigging. Clearly dated 1913. Presented behind glass in a moulded mahogany frame. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Mid 19th.c. two tier rosewood wine or lamp table c.1860. 15” diameter top with a revolving gallery bellow for drinks, books etc. On a turned column and tripod plinth with bun feet and original brass castors. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Large early 20th.c bookcase c.1920. In two pieces with an open bookcase top over a four door cupboard base. Crisply carved foliate detail across the front and sides of the cornice, fluted sides and feet and panelled doors with shaped mouldings. Solid oak throughout. Excellent condition.

Unusual pair of mid 20th.c. narrow chests of drawers. Just 25½” wide with 6 drawers to each chest. Attractive shaped linen fold top and drawer fronts with cast iron drop handles. Moulded trim each side of the drawers, panelled sides and shaped bottom edge. Constructed in solid pine with a rustic limed finish. Ideal as bedside tables.

Beautiful Edwardian era hanging light c.1905. Frosted and cut glass bowl within a gilded brass rim of particular quality, crisply cast with scrolling acanthus leaf detail. Lit with a three bulb fitting and hung from the original brass chains with twisted links and original top cap and ceiling fitting. Excellent condition, cleaned and rewired and ready to hand.

Large and attractive mid 19th.c. portrait of a lady. Good costume detail, she is wearing a grey silk dress with pleated bodice and shawl, a fine lace bonnet and collar and holding a book. In oil on canvas, signed S.Howell and dated 1856 in the lower right hand corner. Presented unframed on a wooden stretcher. Unfortunately the subject is unrecorded, though the artist is believed to be Samuel Howell who is listed as being active between 1829 – 1856. Very good condition with just a small area of damage to the hand.

Late 19th.c. octagonal mahogany centre table of Gothic or Art & Crafts influence reduced in height to make a large feature coffee table. Solid 1¼” thick mahogany top with moulded edge on fine turned legs on a crossed frame base. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Unusual pair of Edwardian walnut and canework or bergere armchairs c1925. Striking design featuring a shaped backrest with carved scallop top and burr walnut centre panel. Extraordinary bowed sides with carved fronts and raised on slim splayed legs with acanthus leaf knees and claw feet to the front and rear. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Large early 19th.c. mahogany clothes press c.1820. Two door cupboard top fitted with four sliding shelves on a two over two chest of drawers of graduated depth. Massive oversized ball and ring mouldings to the cornice repeated on a smaller scale to the door panels and edges of the base. Exceptional flame mahogany veneered door panels and drawer fronts. Raised on large turned feet. Mahogany drawer linings. Excellent condition, the unusual Regency pattern Egyptian head handles are period replacements. Cleaned and polished in our workshops.
