Mid 19th.c. Biedermeier style secretaire chest of drawers c.1840. Useful narrow proportions, just 37″ wide. Single drawer in the top over a large fall which opens to reveal a leather top writing surface and fitted interior, plus three more drawers below. Highly figured burr walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the fall and drawer fronts, the whole piece is bleached to an attractive pale colour. Elm veneered interior with small stationery drawers and two ingenious spring loaded hidden compartments. Some worm damage (now treated and filled), otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
