Adjustable Mirror & Stand.

Unusual late 19th.c. adjustable shaving or make-up mirror and stand c.1880. With a 9″ diameter mirror in a brass bezel on an oak board, angle and height adjustable on an iron bracket. Over a 14″ diameter table with raised lip, also height adjustable. Brass pole with a ball finial on a heavy cast iron base with claw feet. Excellent condition, original through.

French Cherrywood Dresser Base.

Superb early 19th.c. French cherrywood dresser base c.1800. Three plank top with cleated ends and thumb moulded edge. Over two drawers and a two door cupboard base fitted with a single shelf inside. Good decorative front with shaped door panels, a charming carved plant form at the centre, and pierced brass escutcheon plates and oversized brass hinges. Canted and fluted corners, shaped apron to the front and sides and shaped front feet. Thick oak drawer linings and floor boards, chestnut back. Earlier repairs to the feet, otherwise excellent condition and particularly good colour, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.

Pair of Marble Tazze.

Fine pair of mid 19th.c. Sienna marble tazzas or tazze, c.1850. Used for serving small items of food, or just for display. Great colour and condition.

Large Flemish Tapestry.

Large early 20th.c. Flemish Renaissance style tapestry c.1930. Very nearly seven feet wide, depicting a wooded landscape with castle and a Classical fountain. Within an applied scrolling foliate pattern border. Excellent condition.

Early 19th.c. Marble Top Dressing Table

Gorgeous little early 19th.c. beidermeier style mahogany dressing table or wash stand c.1830. Just 31½” wide. Original oval mirror plate within a crossbanded mahogany frame, angle adjustable on a shaped yoke ending in delightful carved swan’s heads. Over the original white marble top with beautifully dished surface and rounded corners. Flame mahogany veneered base with a single drawer raised on shaped legs joined with a turned stretcher and retaining the original brass castors. Minor tarnish to the mirror, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Oak Seaman’s Chest.

Splendid late 18th.c. oak seaman’s chest c.1790. Quite unusual being in solid oak. Dome top with long decorative iron strap hinges and ring handle original iron carry handles. With a hinged compartment inside and raised on sleigh feet to keep it away from the damp. Great original character and condition, left dry and unwaxed.

Late Georgian Mahogany Chest on Chest.

Fine George III mahogany chest on chest c.1820. In two pieces, with two short drawers over six long drawers of graduated depth. Moulded cornice with a carved Greek detail and crossbanded frieze, solid mahogany drawer fronts of matched grain retaining the original gilded brass swan neck handles. Chamfered and fluted corners to the top section, original bracket feet to the base, solid mahogany sides. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Small Chinese Altar Cabinet.

Unusual little Chinese elm altar or side cabinet c.1960. Just 12″ deep, ideal piece for a narrow hallway perhaps. The top with upswept cleats, over four small drawers and two cupboards, plus two further secret drawers hidden behind sliding panels in the waist. Beautifully figured elm fronts with decorative brass mounts and hinges, shaped bracket feet. Note the Chinese script printed on the inside of the cupboards, also the brass door locks in the form of fish. Very good condition.

Large Cased Display of Taxidermy Birds of Prey.

Remarkable large late 19th.c. cased taxidermy display c.1890. Collection of five native British birds of prey, comprising male and female Sparrowhawks, a female Merlin, a young Perigrine Falcon, a male Kestrel and a Rough legged Buzzard. Very good and naturalistic taxidermy, presented in a variety of poses against a rocky backdrop with grasses and mosses. Behind glass in the original case with gold frame. Very good condition.

Rosewood Wellington Chest.

Small mid 19th.c.rosewood Wellington chest c.1870. Just 20″ wide with seven drawers of graduated depth, ideal for accessories and filing (big enough for sheets of A4 paper), held closed with the hinged and lockable right hand pilaster. Carved corbels, turned knobs and hardwood drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
