Very Large Portrait of a Nun.

Impressively large portrait of a nun dated 1922. In oil on canvas measuring 55″ x 35″. An almost full length seated portrait of an nun wearing black and white wimple and robes with gold crucifix. Well painted face and hands. Signed A.K Shea and dated 12-11-1922 in the lower right hand corner. Good condition presented unframed on the original stretcher with a label on the reverse from an artist’s supplier in Washington D.C .

18th.c. Cherrywood Bombe Commode.

Stunning mid 18th.c. French cherrywood commode chest of drawers c.1750. A large chest with an unusual configuration of four small drawers over one long drawer below. Of graceful serpentine bombe form, in solid cherrywood, with shaped drawer fronts and side panels. Moulded edge to the top, carved detail to the front corners, shaped apron continued on the sides and unusual carved feet. Original large steel handles, escutcheons and locks. Some old repairs to the drawer fronts, otherwise excellent original condition with particularly good colour and patina. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Pair of Large Italian Ceramic Greyhounds.

Fabulous pair of large mid 20th.c. Italian greyhound statues c.1950. Standing 26″ tall, in terracotta with a majolica type tin glaze finish. Beautifully modelled as a true male and female pair, seated with their heads angled slightly inwards. With tasselled collars and sat upon low cushions. A few minor chips to the glaze on both and damage to the rear of the male dog.

Chinoiserie Painted Cupboard.

Stylish early 20th.c. painted cupboard or clothes press, c.1920. Useful narrow dimensions, just 36″ wide. Original thick rose marble top with thumb moulded edge over a two door cupboard, painted dark burgundy on the inside and fitted with three adjustable shelves. Fabulous hand painted chinoiserie style decoration across the front and sides, featuring peacocks amongst exotic fauna against a black ebonised ground. With carved and gilded detail to the shoulders. Shaped apron, continued on the sides and with further carved detail at the centre and raised on short shaped legs. Some minor wear finish, otherwise excellent original condition. Key supplied.

Carved & Gilded Window Seat.

Unusual little Empire style window seat c.1900. Elegant giltwood frame with raised sides carved as laurel wreaths. Bergere or canework seat with a carved apron and raised on tapering turned and fluted legs. Excellent condition with original gilding attractively worn on the tops of the ends.

Chrome Towel Rail.

Good quality early 20th.c. chrome towel rail c.1930. Three rails on shape ends with scrolling floral detail and useful extra hanging hoops. Raised on double columns and shaped feet. Excellent condition.

Welsh Oak Court Cupboard or Cwpwrdd Deuddarn.

Early 19th.c. Welsh oak cwpwrdd deuddarn or two piece cupboard c.1810. A superb example of the form, the top boasting original turned droppers and three ogee panel doors (centre is a faux door). Divided into two cupboards, the lockable right hand door hides a delightful original fitted interior of arched pigeon holes, with a double width cupboard behind the centre and left hand door. On the original base unit with two drawers over a large shelved cupboard with panelled doors. Bracket feet, oak panelled sides, original floor and backboards. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.

Mahogany Drop Dial Fusee Wall Clock by Winterhalder & Hofmeier.

Nice early 20th.c. mahogany drop dial fusee wall clock, by Winterhalder & Hofmeier, from Schwaerzenbach, Black Forest, Germany. With a 13″ dial with original inkwork and hands, original brass bezel and glass. Excellent condition, case cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key and winder supplied. 8 day fusee movement cleaned and overhauled and sold together with a 12 month guarantee.

Oak Single Drawer Side Table.

Charming little Georgian oak lowboy or single drawer side table c.1800. Solid oak throughout, with crossbanded top and cock beaded drawer front. Raised on slim tapering square legs. Great antique character to the top with some old marks including a silhouetted pair of sciossors. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, simply cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Carved Buffet or Serving Sideboard.

Large 19th.c. two tier buffet or serving sideboard. Heavily carved three drawer top, with fish and leaf design interspaced with animal masks, raised on four turned and carved columns above a shelved three door cupboard base. The carving continues with green man masks to each door as well as to either side, surrounded by fish and acanthus leaves, with forest fruit and additional animal masks between the doors. Raised on a set of carved bun feet. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops with key supplied. Bearing a stamp for celebrated manufacturers Edwards & Roberts of Wardour Street, London.
