Chinoiserie Bureau Cabinet.

Stylish and decorative early 20th.c. chinoiserie lacquered cabinet c.1920. A versatile piece of furniture featuring a writing bureau with fitted interior, a single drawer and cupboard flanked on either side by bookcase/display space. Good quality and attractive lacquered oriental scenes, painted detail, shaped back and raised on ball and claw feet. Also retaining the beautiful original patterned silk lining to the sides. Already a great looking piece, with a clean and a polish it will really sing.

Double Vision.

Open up this gorgeous little burr walnut box and inside you find the ‘Swan’s Stereoscopic Treasury’. Over fifty original stereo cards each featuring two almost identical 19th.c photographs of British beauty spots. Exploiting the phenomena of binocula vision, when looked at through the adjustable viewer provided, the two images merge to form a three dimensional image with a remarkable illusion of depth. A beautiful period item in wonderful condition from an era of extraordinary innovation.

Pale Oak Desk Chair.

I have a real soft spot for the quality wooden office furniture produced in the late 19th. and early 20th. centuries. A fine example here of a desk chair by the Canadian manufacturers Krug c.1925. Wonderful ergonomic design in pale oak with particularly nicely shaped arms. The chair swivels and tilts, rolls on its original castors and the height is adjustble. Excellent condition, ready for another century of loyal service.
