Purchased together with the wardrobe featured here yesterday we present this accompanying suite of bedroom furniture by Arthur Simpson of Kendal c.1900. Comprising matching dressing table chest of drawers with adjustable mirror, a large washstand with travertine marble top and splash-back and folding brass towel rails, and a single bedside cabinet. The unusual design and exceptional quality cabinet making, in solid oak throughout, are typical of Simpson’s furniture, as is the use of handmade brass handles by the Liverpool metalworker Richard Rathbone (each one stamped on the rear). Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
