Superb oak and marble top washstand by the celebrated Arts & Crafts cabinet makers Arthur Simpson of Kendal c.1900. Large washstand with a beautiful faun coloured travertine marble top and splash-back over a small single door cupboard and an open recess. Folding brass towel rail to one the left hand side. Moulded top rail, carved detail to the door front to match the panels on the wardrobe. Unusual design to the sides of the legs which are joined with a small stretcher shelf at the rear. Original brass handle by Rathbone of Liverpool (stamped on the rear). Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
