Fabulous Edwardian era mahogany dressing table by the acclaimed English cabinet makers Shapland & Petter of Barnstable c.1905. Large adjustable dressing mirror held between two cupboard pedestals with drawers below, and a central dressing table with a single drawer and a recessed kneehole with shelf. Exceptional marquetry inlaid panels featuring stylized plant forms with heart shaped centres in mother of pearl, just the kind of Art Nouveau influenced design for which Shapland & Petter became famous. The Art Nouveau theme is continued in the design of the brass handles which are original throughout. Superb quality in solid mahogany throughout. Original locks, clearly stamped S&P B. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
