William VI Rosewood Fold Over Games Table c.1835.

Elegant early 19th.c. rosewood fold over table c.1835. Stands flat against the wall as an elegant console or side table or turn and open the top to reveal the original faded baize playing surface for cards. Well figured rosewood veneered top with an unusual gadrooned edge over a shaped apron with scroll carved ends. Raised on a simple column pedestal, flared and moulded at the base, on a shaped plinth with superb carved claw feet front and rear. Attractive pale colour, mellowed with age. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
