Welsh Sycamore Top Farmhouse Kitchen Table c.1820.

Exceptional mid 19th.c Welsh farmhouse kitchen or dairy table c.1820. Beautiful pale top made of two 1¼” thick broad sycamore boards with cleated ends. Sycamore was tradionally used for dairy worktops, bowls, spoons etc as it didn’t impart a flavour into the food. On a heavy oak base with two oak lined drawers with brass swan neck handles in one side. Straight legs with chamfered edges and joined with low stretchers to each side. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
