Welsh Oak Kitchen Cupboard c.1820.

Delightful early 19th.c. Welsh oak glazed kitchen cupboard or cwpwrdd gwydr (glass cupboard) c.1820. Of a form typical of those produced on the Isle Anglesey here in North Wales. Built in one piece, with a glazed cupboard top fitted with two shelves and retaining the vintage teal-blue paintwork. Over a cupboard base with two useful drawers in the waist. Superb example of the form with an unusual pointed dental frieze below the cornice over glazed doors with 12 individual panels to each, all but a few being the original glass. Cupboard doors with twin panels within moulded surrounds. Original inlaid bone diamond shaped escutcheons and turned wooden knobs.  Lovely Cupid’s bow apron between the front legs. Oak panelled sides and long deal back boards. Excellent condition, cleaned restored and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
