Tall Brass Mounted Rosewood Wardrobe c.1880.

Exceptional quality late 19th.c. French wardrobe or press c.1880. Single door with a long arch top dressing mirror, fitted inside with four adjustable shelves (depth 15″) and a drawer.  Over another useful drawer in the base, which retains its original sliding top. Rosewood veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern with extensive applied brass mouldings across the piece. Moulded cornice with carved detail, mirror with deep bevelled edge set within raised rosewood and brass mouldings. With superb turned and reed double columns to both sides in solid rosewood with brass mounts top, middle and bottom. Moulded plith with carved acanthus detail, a carved drawer front and raised on square moulded front feet. Sparkling bird’s eye maple veneers to the inside of the door and the drawer front. Solid oak shelves with rosewood fronts. Oak sides, back panel and drawer linings. Excellent condition, keys supplied.
