Small Georgian Oak Bureau c.1780.

Delightful little Georgian oak bureau c.1780. Useful small size, just over 28″ wide. Open the fall to reveal a fitted interior with pigeon holes, stationery drawers and a couple of cleverly disguised sliding compartments. With three drawers of graduated depth in the base. Mahogany crossbanded fall and drawer fronts with boxwood stringing and brass knobs. Large inlaid ebony escutcheon and canted front corners with carved reeded detail. Raised on attractively shaped turned bun feet front and rear. Solid oak top, fall, drawer fronts and sides, the interior is also in oak. With some earlier repairs and restorations and missing a few portions of stringing on the drawers fronts. Otherwise excellent condition, solid and sturdy with a particularly good colour and patina. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
