Small Georgian Open Dresser Base c.1770.

Charming little late 18th.c. open dresser base probably produced in the Herefordshire area c.1770. Unusually small size, just over five feet wide. Two plank top of pronounced grain over one short and two long drawers with turned mahogany knobs. With a straight apron below and raised on square stiles. Note how the unusual reeded detail round the drawers is repeated across the bottom of the apron and down the inside edge of the front legs. Oak sides, also featuring the same reeded detail. Original heavy oak drawer linings, a good early detail. Wear and repairs to the top, otherwise very good condition and particularly good colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
