Small 18th.c. Oak Welsh Potboard Dresser c.1790.

Delightful little late 18th.c. oak Welsh potboard dresser c.1790. Good small size, just over five feet wide at the cornice and only 71″ tall. Particularly attractive plate rack with a crisp moulded cornice, elaborately shaped canopy and sides and very unusual long pointed shoes. On an open base with a single plank top with moulded edge over three drawers. Shaped apron, continued on the sides, raised on straight legs with chamfered inner corners, joined with the original potboard display shelf.  Note how the apron copies shapes from the canopy and sides of the rack. Very good condition with especially good colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
