Small 18th.c. Cherry Dresser Base c.1760.

Charming little 18th.c. French cherry wood dresser base c.1760. Useful small size, just over four feet wide. Traditional pegged construction in honey coloured cherry timbers. Three plank top with cleated ends and lovely ogee moulded edge to the underside. Over a two door cupboard fitted inside with a single shelf. Moulded raised and fielded panels to the doors, note how the design is repeated on the sides. Original decorative steel escutcheons and hinges and original bolt inside the left hand door. Typical of provincial French furniture of this age their is extensive evidence of old woodworm. Otherwise good condition, solid and sturdy with some previous repairs and restorations. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
