Rosewood Open Bookcase c.1860.

Useful mid 19th.c. rosewood bookshelves c.1860. Rosewood veneered top with a crossbanded edge over an open bookcase with two adjustable shelves (depth 13″, a little bigger than many we see). Ebonised interior with rosewood crossbanded shelf fronts, flanked with rosewood half columns with turned capitals and raised on a slim crossbanded plith. The sides of the bookcase are in simulated rosewood with original hand painted woodgrain. Some wear and repairs to the veneers, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
