Miniature Sideboard Apprentice Piece c.1870.

Probably the best apprentice piece we have ever had and a lovely piece of Welsh folk art, we are delighted to present this gorgeous little miniature South Walian mahogany sideboard dresser c.1870. Just 18½” wide, with seven working drawers arranged around a central cupboard, it’s a fabulous demonstration of the cabinet making skills which were once commonplace in British furniture making. Solid mahogany with rosewood crossbanding, ebony and satinwood mouldings, tiny dovetail joints, intricate carved detail and turned knobs and feet. Excellent condition, with a repair to the front  right hand corner, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
