Mid 19th.c. Walnut Pedestal Desk c.1870

Fine quality mid 19th.c. walnut pedestal desk c.1870. Four foot wide top with three leather skivers, a central writing slope, pen tray and shelf flanked with two banks of small stationery drawers, and two drawers below. Lift the slope to reveal a well for documents (or a laptop/tablet) with a fitted interior of four small pigeon holes. On twin pedestals each with three drawers of graduated depth, and raised on castors. Beautifully figured burr walnut veneers across the top and fronts. The sides and rear in plain walnut, polished all round. Mahogany drawer linings and original paper labels for Druce & Co. cabinet makers of Baker St, London. Excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and polished in our workshops.
