Marble Top Marquetry Inlaid Commode c.1910.

Superb marble top inlaid rosewood chest of drawers or commode c.1910. White marble top with a very slight raised lip and thumb moulded edge, over four long drawers. Symmetrically arranged rosewood veneers to the front and sides with exceptional floral pattern marquetry inlays to the drawer fronts with large brass escutcheons. Curved and shaped apron, continued at the sides, with inlaid stringing and a large pierced brass mount at the centre. Further brass mounts to the corners and front feet with scrolling acanthus detail. Oak drawer linings and backboards. Excellent colour and condition, some filled holes to the sides and rear of the marble, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
