Mahogany and Marble Top Gueridon Centre Table c.1840.

Stylish mid 19th.c. French marble top centre table or gueridon c.1840. Retaining the original inch thick grey marble top with a beautifully moulded edge of concentric rings designed to stop spilt drinks from running off the sides. Mahogany veneered apron on solid oak groundwork. Turned and reeded baluster form pedestal and a tripod base in solid mahogany. The legs carved with acanthus leaf detail and lion’s paw feet raised on neat little brass castors. An old chip to the edge of the marble, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
