Low Marble Top Gueridon Centre Table c.1840.

Superb mid 19th.c. French marble top centre table or gueridon c.1840. At just 24″ tall it’s a little lower than most we see. Original grey marble top featuring a shaped edge with concentric rings designed to stop spilt drinks from running off the sides. Flame mahogany veneered apron and octagonal column with a flared and gadrooned base. Square plinth with moulded edge, veneered to match, and raised on large carved Empire style claw feet. A few old chips from the edges of the marble, otherwise very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
