Long Elm Dough Bin c.1790.

Unusually large late 18th.c. elm dough bin c.1790. Originally designed for the mixing and proving of bread dough, with an internal volume of almost 275 litres, this fine example of the form must have belonged originally to a large household or estate kitchen. Ideal now as a long rustic sideboard or strong enough to use as a window seat. Constructed from long solid elm boards with exposed joints at the ends. With a shaped handle to the lid and raised on shaped feet front and rear. Very good unrestored condition and lovely mellow colour.
