Late Georgian Oak Clerk’s Desk Or Bureau c.1800.

Lovely little late Georgian oak clerk’s desk or bureau c.1800. Just 28″ wide. Open the fall which is a particularly good example of cross cut timber, to reveal a good sized work space (height 29″) and a fitted interior of pigeon holes and three small drawers of graduated depth for stationery etc with tiny turned horn knobs to the front of each. Single large drawer below the desk with turned oak knobs, also repeated on the loafers. Raised on fine turned and tapering legs front and rear. Single piece solid oak fall, oak sides and drawer linings to the interior. Excellent condition with a particularly good colour and patina. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Original locks, key supplied.
