Late 19th.c. Carved Oak Longcase Clock c.1880

Late 19th.c. longcase clock, probably Scottish c.1880. Unusual carved oak case, the hood with swan neck pediment, reeded columns with brass mounts and convex glass, reflecting the shape of the dial behind. Long door and base panel carved with a design of a flower in a classical urn. Reeded quarter columns, ogee mouldings and bracket feet. Circular convex face typical of Scottish clocks, in silver plate with decorative inkwork. Eight day works striking the hours on a large spiral gong. Excellent condition, the case has been cleaned and polished in our workshops, the works have been cleaned and overhauled and are sold with a 12 month guarantee.
