Late 18th.c. Mahogany Fold Over Supper Table c.1780.

Very elegant late 18th.c. mahogany fold over supper table c.1780. Stands flat against the wall as a serpentine fronted console or side table or fold open the top (supported on an opening rear leg) to make a useful little table for four people. Beautiful single piece solid mahogany tops with serpentine shaped and moulded edges. Over a flame mahogany veneered apron with a small oak and cedar lined drawer in the front and inlaid stringing along the bottom edge. Raised on slim tapering legs with crisp moulded detail to the outer faces. Very good condition retaining the original hinges. Some old marks to the top and a couple of small repairs to the veneer below the drawer. Lovely mellow colour contrasting with the darker inside which has rarely been exposed to daylight. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
