Large Mahogany Pedestal Desk c.1870.

Large mid 19th.c. mahogany pedestal desk c.1870. Five foot wide top with a central writing slope, three leather skivers and two banks of four small stationery drawers joined with a low shelf and turned gallery. Drawers below the flat side skivers, lift the central slope to reveal a lockable well for documents (or a laptop/tablet) with a fitted interior of four small pigeon holes and three small drawers with maple veneered fronts. On twin pedestals (23″ x 27″ kneehole between) each with three drawers of graduated depth, a moulded plinth and raised on the original brown pot castors. Good quality with solid mahogany sides and drawer linings. Replacement knobs to the top row of drawers, otherwise excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied.
