Inlaid Rosewood Music Cabinet c.1890.

Fine quality late 19th.c. rosewood side cabinet c.1890. Useful dimensions, just 28″ wide. Shaped upstand with a bevelled mirror, turned finials and carved roundels. Over the overhanging top with moulded edge and unusual rounded sides supported on turned brackets. Single door cabinet below fitted inside with dividers, originally intented for sheet music. Beautifully figured rosewood veneers across the top front and sides. Door panel with exceptional inlaid marquetry detail featuring ribbon garlands, acanthus leaves and musical instruments. Further inlaid stringing to the surround, front stiles and the base. Raised on turned feet front and rear. Excellent condition reatining the original brass hinges and escutcheon plate. Cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
