French Marble Top Gueridon Centre Table c.1840.

Fine mid 19th.c. French marble top centre table or gueridon c.1840. A superb example of the form, at 45″ diameter a little larger that most we see. Retaining the original inch thick grey marble top with a raised lip. Mahogany veneered apron on solid oak groundwork with four small mahogany candle slides (an unusual feature) with small brass knobs. Turned and reeded baluster form pedestal and a tripod base in solid mahogany. Beautifully carved legs with splendid lion’s paw feet raised on neat little brass castors. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
