Edwardian Taxidermy Pheasants by James Hutchings, Aberystwyth c.1900.

Large Edwardian era cased taxidermy display of a pair of pheasants by James Hutchings of Aberystwyth c.1900. Fine looking cock pheasant and his mate in a naturalistic arrangement, presented on artificial rocks with grasses and ferns against a background painted blue with the pink glow of dusk or dawn on the horizon. Behind glass in an ebonised wooden case with gilded slip. Maker’s label for Hutchings inside the left hand side of the case. Very good condition cleaned and restored.
