Early 19th.c. Provincial French Oak Kitchen Dresser c.1800.

Very unusual early 19th.c. provincial French oak kitchen dresser c.1800. With a two door cupboard top fitted with a single shelf above an open manger, ideal for large pans, linens, logs or even shoes and boots perhaps. We’ve never come across this design before but note how the rear stiles run through from the top to the floor proving it was constructed as one piece rather than two items joined together. In solid oak throughout. Top with a moulded edge and plate groove over lovely shaped raised and fielded door panels either side of a simple raised carved plant motif. Original large brass escutcheons and hinges, shaped apron and legs. Base slatted on all four sides and the floor, with baluster silhouette front slats and a carved and pierced star detail to the centre. Shaped apron to match the one on the cupboard, continued on the sides. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
