Miniature Oak Chest Of Drawers Apprentice Piece c.1820.

Delightful early 19th.c. miniature oak chest of drawers c.1820. Standing just 17½” tall, probably produced as an apprentice piece, a demonstration of their skills by a young cabinet maker. Ideal as a desk top stationery box or for jewellery perhaps. Featuring two short drawers over three long drawers of graduated depth. Solid oak top and sides. Applied mahogany moulding, cockbeaded drawer fronts with crisp turned mahogany knobs and inlaid bone escutcheons. Shaped apron and feet continued on the sides. With a repair to the apron at the front, otherwise excellent condition, original throughout.
