Anglo Indian Peacock Carved Tea Table c.1880.

Superb late 19th.c. Anglo-Indian carved tea table c.1880. An exceptional example of the form, the hexagonal top beautifully carved with a symmetrical pattern of peacocks and serpents against a dense foliate background amongst which hides a strangely dressed human figure, a hunter perhaps? With a long arching apron to each side, carved with a large peacock against a pierced foliate background. Raised on legs carved as extraordinary looking dragons or serpents with a claw foot below. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
