18th.c. Conwy Valley Welsh Dresser Base c.1780.

Charming small late 18th.c. oak Conwy Valley Welsh dresser base c.1780. Unusual small size, just short of 5′ wide. Three plank top with moulded edge over three drawers, with two cupboards below and a central bank of three small drawers of graduated depth. The shaped ‘slap-on’ door panels are a typical Conwy Valley feature (also found on longcase clocks produced in the area). Unusually this dresser retains its original brass swan neck handles and back plates. Panelled back and sides, original floorboards. Earlier repair to the corner of one drawer front. Superb colour and patina, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
